Stopped in the past weekend during our Downtown Flagstaff trip. I was recommended to go here by a fellow foodie. Being from Phoenix, I have had various sandwich shop meals and Proper Meats ranks amongst the best. I ordered the Pastrami and loved every single bite. Their tomato soup was also excellent, would highly recommend this to any sandwich / quality meats lover!

Great pastrami sandwich with grilled onions and pickles. Loved it. I heard the Aleppo Pepper Pastrami was a big fav here too but I stuck with the classic. Good green chili as well. The Fried Chicken Po Boy was not small. That was a big sandwich.

Nice spacious area to have lunch! Lots of delicious options to eat in and of course all of the great meat to take away. I had the French dip and it was delicious. The roast beef was so soft and flavoursome. The jus that went along with it was really nice too. I thought the crisps that came with it were a bit overdone. The grilled cheese sadly wasn’t that great. It didn’t have a sharp/string cheese in it to make it zing and also wasn’t cooked enough so it had a good pull. The fries were a big enough portion for three people but were perfectly crunchy. All in all we would definitely come again. The service was super friendly. Lots of street parking around too.

Proper Meats is a meat centric restaurant on route 66 and it is specializes in Arizona raised meats. We especially like their pastrami and the Aleppo pepper pastrami is perhaps our favorite sandwich in Arizona Sandwiches come with chips or another side dish if you want to pay extra. They offer a nice selection of Arizona beers and also sodas for those so inclined. The marketplace area sells cuts of meat, as well as sausages produced in house for you to take home and cook. It is one of Flagstaff’s best dining options.

The sandwiches here were excellent. I had a French dip and my husband had a Philly steak. There was so much meat in the sandwich we each had to bring half home. The chips served with the sandwiches were really good too. Very friendly employees. We had to wait a little for a table but by the time our food was ready we had one. You go up and order and they give you a sign for the table and bring the food out. I would definitely go back when we go to Flagstaff. Excellent quality.

The food was surprisingly good, we even bought some burger meat to take home after our lunch. Pastrami sandwich was incredible, tasty flavor with nice meat, and good bread, fresh pickle. Cubano sandwich was also good, more balance flavor, I really liked the Cubano. The bread was soft and tasted good with the cheese and ham. The price was kinda expensive, they are charging LA prices in flagstaff, but you at least get what you pay for.

Went to Flagstaff for the graduation ceremony. We got take-out from them. I got the Beef Bahn Mi and it was really good. It was made with brisket I believe. Whatever it was good and chunky and devoured!

Artisinal quality meats and cheeses in a cozy, inviting Cafe type sandwich shop. I had the French dip, my wife had the BBQ pork sandwich. The meat on the dip was so tender, the horseradish sauce added a nice kick. Her pork was lightly smokey, with atleast a half pound of pork. Good sauces, I was impressed with the Carolina mustard. House made bbq chips came out fast and hot. Make sure to enjoy a Stubborn soda - made with cane sugar. Friendly staff and ample seating for a quick bite. We will be back for the Banh mi and cheesesteak next time!
